Route 66

Breakfast was lovely again in Beverly Hills 90210, we sat in the open air garden

We then packed up and had the valet bring the car round (for a fee) and set off for the La Brea tar pits,  where a giant Harlan ground sloth fossil had been found only last week. We had a good wander round and saw some scientists Knee deep in tar.

We then headed for Santa Monica pier to take a Malibu Homes tour of famous people's houses. It was Saturday, it was scorching, and everyone else was also headed to Santa Monica, so it was heaving. This meant that the bus got stuck in traffic. We did eventually get to see the Malibu houses of Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, Cher and most exciting for us posh and Becks.

Santa Monica pier is also the end of Route 66. Exciting!

After we returned we headed out of LA towards sequoia national park, quite a long drive, and arrived at the Gateway hotel around 8pm. It is in a lovely spot, overlooking a raging river, but we ate then went to bed

Hotel watch

We really liked the Beverly Hills terrace hotel, even though there were no robes. It had a lovely ambience. The bed was comfy and vicky had her own room. The air con was a little noisy though.

7/10
